1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups sugar
1 1/4 cup cocoa
1 15 oz can dark red kidney beans
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup of water
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together the flour with the salt and baking powder. combine all the dry ingredients.
Drain a can of kidney beans. add a bit of water, puree. Add the puree to the dry mix along with the vanilla and extra cup of water. Stir to combine. Add in nuts, chocolate chips or berries if you want.
Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, rotating the pan around halfway through.
They are done when a toothpick comes out clean from the center, the edges will pull away from the pan a bit.
Let brownies cool completely then cut into 2 inch squares.
as is, this is 116 calories per brownie, if 24 servings, add more if you put in walnuts
to make blondies, i subbed garbanzo beans and did not use cocoa powder
